Followings are the current recovery and back up plans practiced by Synermax Consulting Pte Ltd for EWS System when emergency situation such as harddisk crash or system crash occurred.
Backup Process
At the moment, the backup process for EWS system has 2 layers. They are as follow:
1. The first layer is weekly harddisk backup process performed by the Server Hosting company. The back up is done on every Monday.
2. The second layer is daily database backup performed by our Support Team. Support Team will copy database backup file to our internal storage on daily basis during off-working hours. As for the application backup, support team will copy the backup files into internal storage on weekly basis especially for the attachment documents.
Recovery Process
Synermax Consulting Pte Ltd has 2 plans for recovery process during emergency situation. The plans are as follow:
1. Plan A
Synermax Consulting Pte Ltd has our own EWS a backup server on standby in case of emergency situation occured. We will copy the latest database & application backup files and restore them to the standby server. The domain name will also be re-directed to this standby server.
2. Plan B
Server Hosting company also has a backup copy (done weekly on every Monday) and provided a backup server. During emergency situation, we will allow them to restore the harddisk backup to the backup server. Please take note that using Plan B there is a possibility of losing a week of data as the harddisk backup is only done on weekly basis.
